Regular Application Procedures
Please have the following supporting documents ready to upload (in PDF) to the online application form, and select the appropriate programme from the dropdown menu:
- A scan of your passport
- A copy of your transcripts/list of courses taken and grades achieved
- An up-to-date copy of your CV/Resume
- A letter of motivation of approximately 400 – 500 (See prompts below before writing your letter and clearly state which one you are answering/applying to!)
- Pay the €25 application fee by credit card.
Admissions prompts
There are three possible admissions prompts. Please read the information below before submitting your application. When submitting your document, please ensure that you mention which admissions prompt you are responding to.
- Entire four-week Advanced Summer Institute: In a letter of 500 words, please state your commitment to the study of human sexuality, your specific interests within sexuality studies, and how they are related to culture and society broadly. Please describe your relevant academic and professional experience within this field. Further, explain why you wish to participate, what you hope to learn, and what you wish to achieve by participating in this programme. Ensure that your letter of motivation answers all of the above questions, paying specific attention to the topics discussed in each of the blocks.
- Only Block 1: Practicing Sexuality Studies in a Changing World: In a letter of 500 words, please state your commitment to the study of human sexuality, your specific interests within sexuality studies, and how they are related to culture and society broadly. Make sure to clearly link your work/academic background to the content of this block, and include your expectations of what you hope to learn by participating in this block.
- Only Block 2: Critical Reflections on Advanced Topics in Sexuality Studies: In a letter of 500 words, please state your commitment to the study of human sexuality, your specific interests within sexuality studies, and how they are related to culture and society broadly. Make sure to clearly link your work/academic background to the content of this block, and include your expectations of what you hope to learn by participating in this block.
Early admission deadline
Students who require a Schengen Visa to study in the Netherlands are strongly advised to apply before the early deadline to ensure there is enough time to secure a visa appointment before the programme begins.
- Deadline: Saturday 1 February 2025
- Admissions decision: we aim to have a decision back to you as soon as possible, but by 28 February 2025 at the latest.
- Payment deadline (tuition and housing) must be submitted within 2 weeks after being accepted in the programme.
Regular admission deadline
- Deadline: Saturday 15 March 2025
- Admissions decision: we aim to have a decision back to you as soon as possible, but by 15 April 2025 at the latest.
- Payment deadline (tuition and housing) must be submitted within 1 week after being accepted in the programme.
