A letter of motivation* of approximately 500 words addressing your interest in creative writing. State your experience with writing, whether you have already studied creative writing, published anything, or are a complete beginner drawn to this craft. Address your goals and what you expect to learn from this course.
Note: this is the most important part of your application.

*Applicants should not use AI tools to write their motivation letters. The motivation letter is the most important part of your application and the admissions committee values genuine, personal insights written in your authentic voice. The UvA considers the use of AI as fraudulant. Read more about the regulations here.
Students who require a Schengen Visa to study in the Netherlands are strongly advised to apply before the early deadline to ensure there is enough time to secure a visa appointment before the programme begins.
Admissions decision: we aim to have a decision back to you as soon as possible, but by 28 February 2025 at the latest.
Payment deadline (tuition and housing) must be submitted within 2 weeks after being accepted in the programme.
